PST Staffing Update for 2025-26 Season

The PST Board of Directors is excited to congratulate Coach Colby on his promotion to Head Age Group Coach. The interview committee was impressed by Colby's overall application and his continued enthusiasm and loyalty to PST and our swimmers. His vision, new ideas and leadership abilities made him stand out in our process. Colby will start in his new role on August 18th which marks the start of the 2025-26 season.

Please help us in congratulating Coach Colby!

The hiring committee plans to add one to two new coaches to our staff for the 2025-26 season. We've interviewed some exciting candidates, and hope to announce additional hires, as well as group assignments for our current staff, before the end of our current season.

This Week’s Top Tip:

Sunburn is a common concern for swimmers due to prolonged sun exposure and water's reflective properties.  The American Academy of Dermatology Association offers the following tips on how to treat a sunburn:

  1. Get out of the sun.
  2. Take frequent cool baths or showers to help relieve the pain. Afterward, gently pat your skin dry.
  3. Soothe your sunburn by applying moisturizer containing aloe vera or soy while your skin is still damp and whenever you feel discomfort. You can also apply calamine lotion, place a cool, damp washcloth on the affected area, or take a colloidal oatmeal bath.
  4. Consider taking aspirin or ibuprofen to help reduce any swelling and discomfort from your sunburn.
  5. Drink extra water. A sunburn draws fluid to the skin’s surface and away from the rest of the body. Drinking extra water when you are sunburned helps prevent dehydration.
  6. Do not pop sunburn blisters. Blistering skin means you have a second-degree sunburn. Allowing blisters to heal — instead of popping them — protects you from infection. Keep blisters clean and apply petroleum jelly to protect them while they heal.
  7. Protect your skin from the sun to prevent sunburn and reduce your risk of skin cancer and premature skin aging. Seek shade, wear sun-protective clothing — such as long sleeves, pants, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses with UV protection. Apply a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to all skin not covered by clothing.
