FAQ

Is this your first time with us? Here’s what students need to know:

Arrive 10 minutes prior to lesson time to change and meet your instructor just past the entrance by the wooden tables.
Tell front entrance you’re taking a swim lesson and mention instructor's name.
Bring to each lesson: swimsuit, towel, swim goggles and swim cap for long hair...necessary swim equipment which we don’t provide.
No other equipment is needed unless requested by instructor.
Meet instructor between medium and main pools.
Keep shower and change time short after lessons.

If you have any issues with an instructor feel free to fill out our complaint form and we will remove you from future lessons.

For parents

We invite you to observe lessons from the deck above the pool.
To ensure enough space for instructors and swimmers, we ask that parents remain off the poolside and do not participate in lessons.
To keep you informed of your child's progress, instructors may end lessons a few minutes early to chat with parents.
Please note that instructors cannot teach two swimmers simultaneously, as Montclair does not have lifeguards on duty.
Make-up lessons are available at the instructor's discretion.

PST Cancellation & Refund Policy

Please read carefully before completing registration.

By enrolling in PST programs, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

1. General Attendance & Missed Sessions

Registration for PST Swim Lessons and the Pre-Competitive Program is final. PST does not offer refunds, pro-rated tuition, discounts, or make-up sessions for missed lessons or practices for any reason—including illness, injury, personal schedule changes, travel, or weather. Once a session or schedule is booked, attendance is the responsibility of the swimmer and their guardian.

2. Pre-Competitive Program Specifics

Schedule options for the Pre-Competitive Program cannot be mixed, swapped, or interchanged. PST does not permit cancellations, withdrawals, or refunds once a swimmer is enrolled.

3. Instructor Cancellations

If PST or an instructor must cancel a scheduled lesson or practice, PST will either issue a refund or schedule a make-up session at the management’s discretion.

Facility Policies

CRITICAL DROP-OFF / PICK-UP RULE: There is absolutely NO double parking for drop-offs and pick-ups at ANY of our facilities! Please use designated areas to ensure safety and maintain our good standing with these locations.

Air Quality Policy

Our lesson recommendations will be informed by the Air Quality Index and standard recommendations for activity endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Final decision about lessons cancellations will be made 2 hour before the start of lessons with an alert sent to members.

We suggest sensitive groups take into account air quality when the AQI is 150 or below and will cancel and refund lessons if AQI goes above 150. We use Purple Air to track AQI and will send out email communications for lesson cancellations due to air quality.

Montclair Swim Club Members

Members of Montclair Swim Club will get a 20% discount for all lessons, the Pre-Competitive Program and the Piedmont Swim Team. When registering for programs online, the MSC member discount will be applied at final check-out.
