Volunteer jobs - a great opportunity to earn service hours - will be posted one week in advance. Thank you for helping ensure PST stays Safe Sport certified and promotes a healthy environment for all |
PST Block Party Meet - September 13, 2025: |
||
We are excited to launch the 2025/2026 season with several Block Party meets! The upcoming September Block Party meets (9/13 and 9/27-28) will be just for PST swimmers. Block Party Meets offer a relaxed environment for new swimmers to experience a meet and for returning swimmers to ease back into competition. Parents can use this opportunity to learn about timing and other volunteer roles, explore officiating, and immerse themselves in our team's culture while getting to know other parents. The Sept 13th Block Party at Mills College will be a fun, short meet, and an especially great opportunity for both swimmers and parents new to competitive swimming to try out a swim meet in a friendly, low-stress environment. The older swimmers will be there to support our younger age groups so that parents are free to learn the volunteer roles.
Parents, please remember that signing up for a volunteer shift is an expectation. If your swimmer participates in a meet, you also have a responsibility to help out. This is a fun and exciting way to launch the season, and we can’t wait to see everyone there!More details on the 9/27-28 Block Party Meet will be coming soon. |
How to sign up for meets and volunteer roles: |
||
There are two separate, but equally important components to participating in swim meets: (1) sign your swimmer up for the meet and (2) sign yourself up for a volunteer shift! Directions for both are below:
Signing up your swimmer for a meet:
Signing up for a volunteer shift: Sign ups for volunteer shifts typically open on Monday 8PM the week prior to the meet and close late Wednesday evening. You can find sign ups on the website under Events.
Don’t worry if you haven’t done the job before, the other parent volunteers will happily get you up to speed. Descriptions for all the jobs are here.
Pro tip: sign up early to get the job and time slot that works best for you, as unfilled jobs get assigned to families with registered swimmers per our service hour policy. |

This Week’s Top Tip: |
||
Swimming may seem like an individual sport, but team culture plays an important role in a swimmer’s success. Supportive teammates make a big difference, and your swimmers’ fondest memories are more likely to revolve around their friends and teammates. Check out this article on ways to be a great teammate and inspire and elevate those around you. |
