| I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to our meet directors, Helen and Joanne; our head marshal, Vanessa; head Colorado, Rianna; our hospitality genius, Kira; as well as our officials, board members, and parent volunteers. Together, you delivered a fantastic meet last weekend. The feedback from coaches—both from our team and others—was overwhelmingly positive, and our swimmers did an outstanding job in the water. It was truly a pleasure to see PST come together and perform so well both in and out of the pool. This was our first time hosting a Zone 2 C/B/BB meet on our own since the pandemic, and I couldn’t be more proud of what we accomplished. Thank you all!
We are now turning our focus to Club Championships, taking place May 29–31 at Mills. Our inaugural Club Championships last year was, without a doubt, one of the most exciting meets of the season. The following instagram post highlights some of the fun we had.
For families who are new to the team—or anyone who would like a refresher—here’s what you need to know: Dates: Friday evening, May 29 through Sunday, May 31 Who: Everyone! All PST swimmers, regardless of age, are encouraged to attend all three days Will this be too much for my younger swimmer? Absolutely not! This meet is designed to be fun, engaging, and inspiring. Even our youngest swimmers can successfully participate in the full 2.5-day experience. Last season, we had 6- and 7-year-olds complete the entire program—and they loved it. Don’t miss out on this special opportunity! Cost: TBD How to sign up: Registration will be available on our website. We will send out an announcement as soon as it opens.
How it works: Registration will close on April 20. After that, our coaches will draft swimmers into their teams. While full details will be included in the meet sheet (coming soon), here’s a quick overview: Each coach will draft swimmers to compete in specific events Events will have scoring heats (A and B) and non-scoring heats (C and D) For example, the 25 Free will include: - An A heat (reserved for 8 & Unders) - A B heat (open to all ages) A heats will score more than B heats - Possibly a C & D heat, non scoring and open to all ages Coaches will assign swimmers to events - No, your swimmer will not be able to choose their events Relays will score double points, and distance events will score the same as relays At the end of the meet, we will crown an overall team champion—last year, the “Golden States Knights” coached by Coach Colby and Coach Kelly took the win!
In addition to the racing, we will have a team parade, costume showcases, team cheers, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate together. Swimmers who break club records will be recognized in real time, and we’ll have spirit awards during distance events—plus many more surprises.
The coaching staff is incredibly excited for this meet, and we hope to see all 190 PST swimmers there. It’s going to be an unforgettable experience for everyone!
Go PST!
