| We were thrilled to see PST swimmers complete their first practices in the new Piedmont Community Pool this week! Our Green and Blue swimmers have done a stellar job of introducing pool-goers to our team and showing the Piedmont community PST’s pride and spirit. The Piedmont Recreation Department was gracious and accommodating in renting us lane space during the Montclair Swim Club closure. We cannot stress enough how important it is that we continue to be patient, understanding guests during these busy opening weeks at the new pool. Let’s be the best guests we can be, and comply with any and all requests from pool staff. 2026/27 Piedmont Pool Negotiations The Board’s top priority is to build a strong, collaborative relationship with our home pool and the Piedmont Recreation Department team. Our current goal is to start the 2026/27 season with a practice schedule that includes the Piedmont Pool alongside our current facilities. We are moving negotiations forward as quickly as possible while remaining patient with the Rec Department’s schedule and needs. Rec Department leaders have asked for more time to settle into the initial pool opening before continuing conversations about next season. As everything is a first right now, many logistical and administrative details—including our facility use agreement, fees, and insurance requirements—will take time to finalize. While we have worked out these details for short-term use, we anticipate many more conversations as we solidify longer-term arrangements and build a relationship of trust with the Rec Department. Continuing PST’s Legacy As a Board, we want to thank the PST families, past and present, who contributed in ways big and small to help Piedmont open this new community pool. PST has been the center of youth aquatics in Piedmont since the team’s founding in 1977. What better way to mark our 50th season than by returning to our brand-new home pool! If you are interested in supporting the Board’s efforts to return to the Piedmont Pool, please email Erin Schultz, and we will keep you in the loop about ways you can help. Go PST!
