Final Monthly Payment is Due Today:

The last monthly dues will be charged to Blue, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Titanium families on June 1st. While families are financially committed to the team for the entire year, our payment structure is based on 10 months instead of 12, so you will not be charged on July 1st and August 1st. Please reach out to Chris, our treasurer, if you have any questions about our payment structure.

Green families swimming during the summer term will be charged on June 1st and July 1st.

Leaving PST Early:

If your swimmer wants to leave PST before our summer break on August 3, please fill out this Google form to inform us. We can inactivate your account early if you choose to do so and if all your financial commitments have been met according to our policy.

As a reminder, all policies on leaving PST can be found in our 2024/25 Swim Season Team Handbook.

Flannel Pants/ Merchandise + Team Photos:

Team Merchandise will be available at Club Championships today from 10 - 2! Buy your swimmer, or their biggest fan, a PST HAT, sweatshirt, T-shirt, swim caps and more.

If you ordered PST Flannel Pants for your swimmer, pick them up at Club Champs! The final cost is $50.00 each. Payment required at pickup - Venmo strongly preferred.

Please pick up your swimmer’s individual or team photos at the Merch table on Saturday or Sunday at Club Championships. There are about 15 orders that haven’t been picked up yet.

Reno - Preparing for our summer 2025 travel meet: June 20-22

As we get closer to the Reno meet, we would like to collect final details for those attending. In addition to a team dinner,  we will be collecting attendee information to plan some optional activities while the children are not competing. The meet schedule is split between younger (12 and under) and older (13 and over), so we will be organizing some events for each.

Those who fill out this form will receive updates on those activities, so we highly recommend you fill it out if you are going: https://forms.gle/VT2ASUTrAqNAZCz39

For those not yet registered, good news, the meet is still open on FastSwims and PST already has 50 swimmers registered to attend. If you plan to attend this meet, please register ASAP!

If your plans for this meet have changed, please update your responses on our planning form

You can find more information about preparing for the Reno meet here. We’ll update this doc soon to include details about the team’s social plans and other important information about the meet.

This Week's Top Tip:

Shoulder injuries are unfortunately common for athletes of all types, including swimmers.  Swimmer’s shoulder is a broad name for a few different issues that cause shoulder pain, weakness and other symptoms in your shoulder joint.  Some of the shoulder conditions that are referred to as “swimmer’s shoulder” include: shoulder impingement syndrome (pain that happens when the top outer edge of your shoulder blade pinches your rotator cuff beneath it); rotator cuff tendonitis; shoulder labrum injuries (your shoulder labrum is a layer of cartilage that protects and stabilizes your shoulder joint); shoulder muscle strains; and pinched nerves.

Although it’s hard to know exactly how common swimmer’s shoulder is, it’s estimated at least one-third of elite competitive swimmers have had some type of swimmer’s shoulder.

This North American Journal of Sports Physical Therapy article provides a helpful discussion of swimming biomechanics that analyzes shoulder motions in different strokes.

Finally, check out this TrueSport article for tips on how you can avoid shoulder injuries.

Next Week:

At this time, we have no changes/cancellations to report.

Safe Sport:

How to tackle team drama by talking it out

Team drama is nearly inevitable for young athletes. Whether your athlete is navigating an interpersonal issue with one teammate or dealing with cliques, you can help give your athlete the space and tools needed to effectively talk things out.  Read the full article here from TrueSport.

It is a shared responsibility to maintain these relationships, and we need parents to follow the parking requirements for each facility.

Please refer to specific instructions for each pool location in this document, along with screenshots indicating unavailable parking/access in red, and available parking in green.
