Reno - Preparing for our summer 2025 travel meet: June 20-22

As we get closer to the Reno meet, we would are collecting final details for those attending. In addition to a team dinner, we are collecting attendee information to plan some optional activities while the children are not competing. The meet schedule is split between younger (12 and under) and older (13 and over), so we will be organizing some events for each.

Those who fill out this form will receive updates on those activities, so we highly recommend you fill it out if you are going: https://forms.gle/VT2ASUTrAqNAZCz39

We also realize that many swimmers will be traveling with other swimmers’ families. This does not change the requirement that every swimmer have an adult available to volunteer. To avoid being assigned a job you are unavailable to do, please coordinate with others and sign up early. You can expect at least one shift per swimmer.

For those not yet registered, the meet is still open on FastSwims and will close on June 12.

This Week's Top Tip:

When you lose a critical competition, you may be told to “walk it off” or “shake it off.”  While well-intentioned, that advice may make many athletes feel like it’s not right to feel sad, mad or disappointed.  If you never feel disappointed, you’re missing out on an important emotional experience.  Disappointment can be a springboard to making progress and improving in, not only sport, but also life also.

In this article, clinical psychologist and True Sport Expert Kevin Chapman, PhD,  shares ways to cope with—and move beyond—disappointment.

Safe Sport:

PRIDE Month Trailblazer: Keith Frostad

“As any Olympian would tell you, sacrifices are necessary to reach dreams of representing the USA. Missing out on school dances, passing on a Friday night football game and pausing friendships to accomplish these dreams are common instances, but for Lawrence “Keith” Frostad, a 1992 Olympic swimmer in the 1500M freestyle, overcoming bullying as an openly gay man created obstacles only a select few have had to face.” Read the full story from USA Swimming here.

Important - Parking Reminders at PST Facilities:

Dear PST Families,

It goes without saying that we rely on positive relationships with the different communities whose pools we use for practices.

It is a shared responsibility to maintain these relationships, and we need parents to follow the parking requirements for each facility.

Please refer to specific instructions for each pool location in this document, along with screenshots indicating unavailable parking/access in red, and available parking in green.

Thank you for adhering to these requirements
