This Week's Top Tip: |
As the days get warmer, it becomes even more important for swimmers to stay hydrated. Read more information in Swimming World Magazine, which included these tips: “A common rule of thumb that’s often stated for remaining hydrated is to take one’s body weight, divide it by two, and drink that much water in ounces…It is recommended that swimmers drink at least 16 fluid ounces of water two hours prior to working out and to consistently rehydrate during the workout to avoid any fatigue that could come from dehydration. Swimmers are also encouraged to hydrate following workouts to replenish any lost fluids and to promote recovery of muscles.” |
Next Week: |
Monday, June 23rd: All practices are cancelled. Our swimmers and staff need a day off to recover from the Reno meet. |
Volunteer Opportunity: |

PRIDE Month Trailblazer: Keith Frostad “As any Olympian would tell you, sacrifices are necessary to reach dreams of representing the USA. Missing out on school dances, passing on a Friday night football game and pausing friendships to accomplish these dreams are common instances, but for Lawrence “Keith” Frostad, a 1992 Olympic swimmer in the 1500M freestyle, overcoming bullying as an openly gay man created obstacles only a select few have had to face.” Read the full story from USA Swimming here.
