2025 PST Swim-A-Thon

This year, our team is hosting a Swim-A-Thon to raise money. Swim-A-Thon is a USA Swimming Foundation fundraiser used by swim teams all over the United States. Swimmers receive donations for swimming as many laps as possible at the Swim-A-Thon Event on March 29th.

Watch the Swim-A-Thon “How to” Video to get started!

What is the fundraiser for?

To raise money for the team. We have $18,000 of general operating expenses - pool rentals, staff - for this season coming from this fundraiser. We've set the goal higher to help cover costs of the event and replace the team canopies. We hope to raise all $25k this season!

What are the swimmers expected to do?

Raise money and come to the Swim-A-Thon event on March 29th to swim laps. Swimmers will have 30 minutes or 1 hour to swim. It will be a fun community event for all!

It says to set up the page, but why?

This is the best way to raise money. The website allows you to send emails directly from your swimmer to donors. The donors click the link and make donations directly to your swimmer. The website tracks how much each swimmer has raised and donations are deposited into the correct fund. Tracking swimmer fundraising is essential for prizes, and we have some great incentives for the swimmers to get excited about.

How should swimmers explain the fundraiser to their families?

They should share about their experience on the team and what their goals are with the Swim-A-Thon. Some swimmers may choose to set a lap goal, others might want to fundraise for a prize. All the money supports the team and the swimmer!

Can I reach out to family/friends to ask for donations without having to go through the website?

You can email anyone directly and send them the link to our website. They can find any swimmer by searching their name. Every swimmer is automatically set up to accept donations. Make sure donations are made to your swimmer.

Can my swimmer accept cash donations?

We recommend parents collect all cash donations and add them to their swimmer’s account with a digital payment on the website. We are unable to accept or process cash donations.

Why should my swimmer get involved?

To help their team, participate in the fun community event on March 29th and win prizes! Check out Guidebook and full list of prizes HERE.

Information for Swimmers Leaving PST Mid-Season:

As a way to support and encourage new swimmers to discover their love for swimming, PST offers shorter terms for Green swimmers and a trial period for new Blue swimmers. If you have a Green or new Blue swimmer who will not be continuing with PST, please see below for instructions.

Green group families: Green swimmers may choose not to return at the end of each term. The remaining two terms this season run from March 8 - May 31 (12 wks) and June 1 - July 27 (8wks). If your swimmer does not plan to return for the term starting on March 8, please let us know no later than February 10 by completing this form. If we do not hear from you by this date, your family will be committed financially for the full length of the upcoming term. We hope to see your Green swimmer back in the pool soon!

New Blue group families: If you have a swimmer in the Blue group who was new to PST in August 2024, please be aware that your swimmer’s trial period ends in February. If your swimmer does not plan to continue on PST, please let us know no later than February 10 by completing this form. After February 10, your trial period will end. Payment for the second half of the season can be paid either in one lump sum or can continue to be charged monthly.

All other PST families: If your swimmer is considering leaving PST during the season, please first discuss this decision with your swimmer’s coach. If your swimmer does decide to leave the team, please let us know by filling out this form. You have the option to remain active for the remainder of the season or to inactivate your swimmer’s account. More information about these options can be found in the form.

As a reminder, all policies on leaving PST can be found in our 2024/25 Swim Season Team Handbook.

Safe Sport

The spotlight this week is on the PST Swimmer Code of Conduct. As you are likely aware, we recently updated the code of conduct to align with updates from USA Swimming. Mid-season is a great time to re-visit the code, as our coaches will be doing with swimmers. It’s important to remember that the code isn’t just about what not to do, it also gives 15 examples of positive behaviors to embody.

Important - Parking Reminders at PST Facilities:

Dear PST Families,

It goes without saying that we rely on positive relationships with the different communities whose pools we use for practices.

It is a shared responsibility to maintain these relationships, and we need parents to follow the parking requirements for each facility.

Please refer to specific instructions for each pool location in this document, along with screenshots indicating unavailable parking/access in red, and available parking in green.

Thank you for adhering to these requirements.
