This Week's Top Tip:

We often think about helping our swimmers shift their mindset regarding practice to focus on the positives and opportunities that each practice provides. Parents can shift their mindsets as well when it comes to volunteering at meets. Try to think of volunteering as a way to become more engaged with the sport, a chance to interact and get to know some of the other swim parents, and a way to shift from being a spectator to being actively engaged in the smooth running of something which is important to your child.

Safe Sport:

Reminder, if your swimmer turns 13 during the season, please have them complete the Safe Sport training for swimmers 13 and older.

To complete the training online via USASwimming.org:

After logging into your USA Swimming Account, click on “Education” in the top right. For athletes, click on the “Safe Sport” button at the top and choose the appropriate course “Safe Sport for Youth Athletes (13-17) or “Safe Sport Training for Adult Athletes” for swimmers 18 and older.

PST is committed to being a Safe Sport friendly team. To be part of the team, each family (one guardian and all 13 and older swimmers) must complete their Safe Sport training requirements each season. This also helps PST maintain our Safe Sport designation as a team. The training will help you and your swimmer understand the importance of a safe and healthy environment and what to look out for during practices and meets.

Go PST!

Important Dates, Cancellations, and Practice Updates:

3/29:

Swim-A-Thon. 9 - 3 at Mills. Everyone should attend.

Please note: this is the first Saturday of OUSD’s spring break. Please plan accordingly. We’re hoping for high participation in this fun team event!

Meet Registration Pro Tip:

You can opt in to email alerts in your FastSwim account and by doing so, never miss a meet registration again.

Simply go to your settings in the top right corner, click “notifications” and click the box for “Pacific Swimming: Zone 2” to get email notifications for all Zone 2 meets. (Note: you will get emails for all meets in the Zone regardless of if PST is attending.) FastSwims does not send ancillary emails so the only messages you will get are those for meet registration opening.

Additionally, you can plan your registration in advance by clicking on the “meet sheet” next to the “online entries” link on the PacSwim site in advance of registration opening to talk to your swimmer about the events they will be swimming.

Important - Parking Reminders at PST Facilities:

Dear PST Families,

It goes without saying that we rely on positive relationships with the different communities whose pools we use for practices.

It is a shared responsibility to maintain these relationships, and we need parents to follow the parking requirements for each facility.

Please refer to specific instructions for each pool location in this document, along with screenshots indicating unavailable parking/access in red, and available parking in green.

Thank you for adhering to these requirements
